Researching your school options

Which school or school district to choose for your child is one of the biggest decisions you will make as a parent. Below are listed some resources to assist you in your decision-making.

There are a number of websites to which you can refer for information.

The State Report Card  http://reportcard.ospi.k12.wa.us/ at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction provides current and historical test scores by school and district. It also provides other detailed information by school. To drill down for the data, use the search box on the top right-hand site of the OSPI site.

www.greatschools.org provides listings nationwide on school performance,
including parent ratings and reviews.

www.schooldigger.com is a schools comparison site which provides test score data, demographic data and neighborhood information.

These Fraser Institute’s ratings and rankings of Washington schools help parents see how the schools in their city or town are doing academically.
